BodyTalk Therapy

BodyTalk Therapy

The BodyTalk System seeks to address the “whole person.”  No aspect of the human psyche can be overlooked, be it emotional, physical or environmental. It is a complete healthcare system that supports and promotes the well-being of any person, animal, or plant.

BodyTalk understands the profound influence the psychology of the body has on our health. Instead of focusing on the symptom, BodyTalk finds the underlying causes of illness by addressing the whole person.

The BodyTalk technique provides insight into the areas of your body that need attention. What might seem like an obvious problem to you is not necessarily the one your body wants to address first. This direct insight is the beauty of BodyTalk. It respects the body’s needs and determines your body’s priorities for healing. Then, with the use of a variety of non-invasive techniques, BodyTalk refocus your body’s natural healing response to establishing better communication within the body.

I have been a BodyTalk Practitioner since 2004 and have had the opportunity to work with many athletes with conditions such as spinal, joint, concussions, blunt force trauma, and performance anxiety.

One of the major issues that BodyTalk Therapy addresses is the release of emotional attachments located throughout the body such as fear, shame, regret, guilt, anger, and self-doubt.

The body has the uncanny ability to communicate relevant information regarding powerful subconscious emotions through the pain. Back pain, for example, may be the result of an issue around the feeling of support or mental flexibility. Forearm and elbow pain may be the result of a conflict with a co-worker or general feelings of disempowerment. Right ankle pain may be the result of issues about making a big decision around a relationship or a career move.

These unprocessed emotions can even be the causal link to chronic injuries. After these unacknowledged emotions flow into awareness, they can be permanently dissociated from the physical body and released.

There are even some general themes that the body exemplifies through the pain. For example, if the pain only occurs on the same side of the body, Chinese medicine would look for any imbalances between the male/female aspects of that individual or the yin/yang. This imbalanced often plays itself out in relationships with a particular gender. When a person balances out their yin/yang, their relationships improve dramatically because they become a more balanced and whole individual.

BODYTALK

Body Talk Therapy Treatments

BodyTalk is based on the premise that the body can heal itself at all levels. We can see this if we take into account when we cut our fingers or break a bone.

The body just knows how to heal itself through the innate. When we get stressed, anxious and have emotional disturbances, the cellular structures and organs in our bodies don’t communicate effectively. BodyTalk is a therapy to re-establish these connections and allow for the body to re-balance.

  • Releases pent-up emotion
  • Bypasses the mind and goes to where the body holds onto emotion
  • Allows for the body to heal itself
  • Reduce stress
  • Non-invasive
  • You feel lighter after treatment
