Evolution of Reiki

Reiki is a profound energy healing modality.  As a Reiki master in Toronto, I am actively adding to the Reiki modality.  Many Reiki practitioners don’t know that Reiki originates from the Japanese martial art Aikido that was popularized in North America by actor Steven Segal.  In 1988, Steven Segal starred in a semi bio film entitled “Above The Law” in which he described watching an Aikido master effortlessly throw people.  Aikido is based on a spiritual practice of grounding oneself and flowing and countering energy through movement and pivoting force.

Reiki for me has come alive with my martial arts training.  Just as attention and awareness is sharpened in martial arts competitions, so too has my energy awareness in Reiki. The grounding to the earth prior to conducting a Reiki treatment has prevented me from being “sucked in” to people’s issues that show up energetically.  Grounding is a combination of energetic and mental focus.  The mind must remain calm and balanced to receive energetic impressions on subtle energies.

The other awareness that I have developed is a sense of flow.  Aikido is predominantly focused on flow of energy through movement.  Similarly, I seem to seek that same sense of flow in my day to day life.  Every moment is unique and I strive to honour each moment as they present themselves.  A true master healer will never truly feel that their training is complete.  Each moment contains the possibility of love and I often encourage people in my spiritual mentorship practise to find the love during stressful events.  Love can take on self-preservation, or it can be about protecting love ones.  The most daring way to use love to understand the energy behind stressful events and people out of integrity.

Distill the love, even just a little, and you may find your personal fulcrum in both healing and life.

Kundalini Vs Reiki Vs Innate

I have been asked many times during my seminars the difference between Reiki energy and Kundalini energy.  Let us start with understanding that there are many different energies that exist both within and around our body.  There is the corporeal physical body, the mental body, the emotional body, the psychic body, the innate (electromagnetic), and the Kundalini (electromagnetic), and the shamanic or dream body.  From my experience, Reiki energy therapy connects with the psychic body, the physical body, and the mental body.  This is not to say that Kundalini energy is completely excluded from reiki, but generally, it flows from within the physical body instead reiki which is derived and channeled from an outside source.  The electromagnetic field of the innate is also an internally derived system.

Reiki is channeled from the idea of a source field that a practitioner opens themselves up to.  This field is a high frequency, and has a profound elevating effect on the both the practitioner and the client.  For issues such as fear and anxiety, or emotional issues trapped in the body, reiki can have a profound impact.

Kundalini is usually linked to tantric sex practices which deal with the raising of sexual energies up the spine to stimulate the pineal gland for awareness, and then fall to the heart to stimulate the sense of oneness with a partner.  Kundalini starts off in the prostate for men, and the G-spot for women.  This is what I call the Lower Pineal gland.  This lower pineal gland creates the energy of electrical excitement that in the lay person experiences a desire for sexual release.  If this release is denied, the raising up of this energy the spine ignites each vertebrae to ring like keys on a piano.  The harmony of the ringing spine combined with the raising of energy up the spine raises to the brainstem which directly connects with the pineal gland.  The spine becomes a bit of an antennae for energy and can pull in energy as well and push energy.

As the pineal becomes electrified, heightened perceptual awareness increases tenfold. As the pineal becomes activate in the presence of a partner (with an activated pineal), the energetic awareness falls down to the heart and is experienced as love.

The innate energy is a field that sits between 6 to 12 inches from our body.  It is a field that is the sum total of energy from the cells of DNA.  It can only be accessed through the heart, the pineal, or the lower pineal gland.  The innate is a closed system that although it responds to our words and feelings, it has its own agenda in our life.  Our innate is also related to the aging process, so in youthing practices, it must be accessed to shift the health of our DNA.

All of these subjects are covered in my Energy Activation Seminars.
